Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had enough of starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky and replaced him with first-round pick Kenny Pickett. While it gave the team a jolt, the Pittsburgh Steelers allowed the go-ahead touchdown with 18 seconds remaining in a 24-20 loss to the New York Jets.
The Steelers did not cover the spread as a 3-point favorite. It was a rough beat for Steelers bettors as they blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead. Over bettors of 41 0r 41.5 cashed with Breece Hall’s late rushing touchdown.
Tomlin pulled the plug on Trubisky at halftime after another lackluster stat line. Trubisky only threw for 84 passing yards and an interception on 7-of-13 passing.
Pickett stepped in as the Steelers trailed 10-6 at half, and led the Steelers to a 20-10 lead they could not hold onto. The rookie finished 10-for-13 for 120 yards with a rushing touchdown and three interceptions.
It could be the Pickett show for Week 5 and beyond.

Pittsburgh Steelers Week 5 betting insight
The Pittsburgh Steelers finally moved to the future of the franchise by inserting rookie first-rounder Kenny Pickett as the starting quarterback.
“There’s definitely some excitement and hope with the change of quarterbacks,” Max Schmerin, sportsbook manager at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, said. “On paper, Pickett’s state line doesn’t look grea, however, if you watched the game, a lot of those interceptions hit receiver’s hands. The talk all week has been about how Kenny Pickett is hopefully going to turn this team around.”
Having said that, Steelers bettors are not behind their team this week as 14-point underdogs against the Bills. According Schmerin, 70% of the money and 82% of the tickets is on the Bills’ moneyline. Sixty percent of the money and 45% of the tickets is on the Bills’ spread.
