Experience should count for something. Like most teams nowadays, the Penn State men’s basketball roster has had both additions and subtractions thanks to the NCAA’s transfer portal.
But with the season now upon us, Penn State’s projected starting lineup features four seniors and a junior. And that experience should count for something.
Penn State also has a new head coach, Micah Shrewsberry, who should bring fresh energy to the program.
Shrewsberry was most recently the associate head coach at Purdue and prior to that an assistant head coach with the Boston Celtics. He inherits a Penn State program that has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2011.
And a quick look at the odds suggests it will be an uphill climb to get back there this season. Here are some numbers from the best PA sports betting apps.
