BetRivers branding and lounge coming to Penguins arena

A high-tech BetRivers sportsbook lounge is coming to PPG Paints Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The lounge is part of an exclusive multiyear agreement that makes Rivers the official casino and sportsbook of the Pens.

The announcement was made today by David Morehouse, CEO of the Penguins; Bill Keena, general manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh; and Mattias Stetz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive, operator of BetRivers.com.

Hockey town gets a sportsbook lounge at the Penguins arena

The team is a five-time Stanley Cup winner with a loyal fanbase. The Penguins failed to advance to the 2020 playoffs, defeated by the Montreal Canadiens in the qualifying round.

Pittsburgh is a sports-centric town that likes to bet on NHL.

When the arena reopens post-COVID-19, the new BetRivers lounge will feature two rows of luxury seating. Sports fans can watch the Penguins games live while betting via the BetRivers Pennsylvania app on their mobile devices.

The removal of several rows at the top of section 120 in the lower bowl will provide the space.

BetRivers lounge will have a sportsbook vibe

The new space should have the same vibe as the sportsbook at Rivers Casino. Both are the work of the same designer, DMAC Architecture of Chicago. The lounge will also feature a bar with seating and club chairs, as well as multiple live-action screens.

The Penguins believe the space should provide an “elevated game-day experience.”

According to Morehouse:

“This is an exciting extension of our longstanding relationship with Rivers. The BetRivers Lounge is one of a number of projects we are undertaking at PPG Paints Arena to provide an enhanced and safe fan experience in a post-COVID environment.”

Keena added, “Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s proud partnership with the Penguins dates back to our grand opening. The new BetRivers Lounge at PPG Paints Arena takes this longstanding relationship to a whole new level — literally.”

Stetz also added:

“As two organizations that share a commitment to excellence in providing sports fans with unparalleled experiences, BetRivers.com is proud to be the exclusive sportsbook of this winning franchise and the pride of Pittsburgh.”

Marketing and advertising at the arena

Additionally, the agreement creates an exclusive marketing partnership with Rivers Casino and BetRivers branding and advertising in the arena.

Rush Street was the first online gaming company to launch online sports wagering in Pennsylvania. The company also operates online sportsbooks in Illinois, New Jersey, Indiana and Colorado.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is on the Ohio River’s North Shore. Rush Street Gaming and its affiliates operate the casino. They opened a $5.5 million sports lounge at Rivers last October.

The deal with BetRivers follows a growing trend of pro teams and sportsbook and casino deals. The Philadelphia Eagles recently announced a similar one making Fox Bet their official sports betting partner. They had previously teamed with Unibet as their online casino partner.
