Parx Casino Shippensburg is officially the 17th Pennsylvania casino offered in the area. On Wednesday night, state officials granted the newest PA gaming location the go-ahead to open its doors for business on Thursday morning, Jan. 26.
The announcement was confirmed last night by Parx’ general manager Kevin Brady, following multiple testing days with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). Parx Shippensburg provided a sneak preview on Jan. 23 and 24 to see how operations worked.
While guests can now enjoy another PA casino option, the grand opening is still set for next Friday, Feb. 3.
Parx Casino Shippensburg open for betting
The newest Parx Casino joins the state as the fourth Category 4, or PA mini-casino. These retail establishments are typically a bit smaller than others in the Keystone State and are limited in the number of game offerings they roll out.
Parx Shippensburg spans across 73,000 square feet, delivering 549 slot machines in total, along with 48 electronic table games. There are no standard table games available at the casino, however, these electronic versions give bettors a few different options.
Live dealers sit in the middle of the gaming area with all 48 electronic machines around them. Guests have the ability to play roulette, blackjack or three-card poker with other players, or completely separate.
Ultimate Texas Hold’em is also on the list for future electronic table games.

Parx Shippensburg is open 24 hours during weekends and select holidays. Its business hours during the week extend from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. for every Monday through Thursday.
