The Pennsylvania iGaming industry is easily the market leader, which didn’t change in August. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported that operators produced nearly $225 million in online casino revenue last month. It’s the second-largest total ever in the Keystone State.
PA online casino revenue has exceeded $200 million for the second straight month and has done so in six of the eight months in 2024. Operators fell short of the record of $233.1 million, which occurred in March.
Operators experienced a 4.5% month-over-month revenue increase and a 31% year-over-year increase.
PlayPennsylvania Managing Editor, Tyler Andrews, said of PA online casinos:
Pennsylvania online casinos continue to set the standard for igaming in the country. From the growth of the overall market, to the productivity of new operators like bet365, the Keystone State has proven again that its igaming market is thriving.

Quick analysis from August PA iGaming figures
Bet365 off to a fast start post-launch
Bet365 Casino PA has already made a mark in the PA iGaming market, producing nearly $3.1 million in its first full month of operation. In July, when it launched and was open for business for nine days, it generated $1.1 million.
The operator has already moved past Mohegan Sun and Wind Creek and can close in on others, such as Bally’s and PokerStars in the very near future. It’s possible that bet365 can exceed $4 million in monthly revenue before the end of the year.
To give a sense of bet365’s success at launch, we can compare it to its New Jersey online casino counterpart.
In its first full month, Bet365 has already surpassed its New Jersey revenue totals for August of $1.4 million. It’s clear bet365 is going to be successful in the Keystone State.
FanDuel turns in massive month
The PGCB does not break down revenue by operator, which makes it difficult to see exact statistics. However, FanDuel Casino PA and Stardust are both partnered with Valley Forge Casino.
The licensee produced $58.3 million in August revenue, which is its third-best month ever, behind March and April of this year. It’s likely that FanDuel comprises an overwhelming majority of the revenue.
During a Q2 2024 earnings call, the company announced it being the No. 1 iGaming operator in the country. That certainly doesn’t happen if it isn’t leading in Pennsylvania, which is the market leader in the online casino space.
Lifetime revenue reaches $7.5 billion
The online casino industry has been booming, especially in Pennsylvania. While New Jersey is the all-time leader in lifetime handle, the Keystone State has become the market leader over the last two years.
To put the vertical into perspective, Pennsylvania was the only state to cross $200 million in revenue for August. The top three markets produced the following totals:
- Pennsylvania: $225 million
- New Jersey: $198.3 million
- Michigan: $196.7 million
It’s clear that Pennsylvania is far and away the market leader, even in months such as August, when New Jersey set a state revenue record. The Keystone State easily cleared it.
Pennsylvania set the all-time record for revenue last March, recording $233.1 million. As the sports calendar picks up in the fall, it would be surprising if the state didn’t break its own record by the end of the year.
