As we begin a new year of gaming in Pennsylvania, we take a deeper look at some interesting stories to start 2020. First, a look at promo credits given out at PA online betting apps to date and provide an update on our exhaustive online casino game tracker.
Also making this week’s top three is yet another large Divine Fortune progressive slot hit.
Promo credit up for grabs at PA online sportsbooks
Promo offers including sign-up and bonus offers vary from operator to operator and over time, so PlayPennsylvania reviewed the offerings since launch. Promotional dollars from the seven online sportsbooks are presented for comparison.
FanDuel has consistently doled out the most in promotional credits overall, awarding $9.3 million since it launched in September 2019. The operator has stated their promotional strategy is part of its goal of providing a first-class customer experience. It’s a winning gambit: FanDuel accounts for about 56% of the bets placed online in Pennsylvania.
The two Rivers – Rivers Philadelphia, formerly SugarHouse, and Rivers Pittsburgh – were quite open-handed when they launched. Both neared or exceeded seven-figure promotional credits in both July and August. Those promo credits have dropped since then with neither topping $600,000 in October or November.
High performing Parx is taking a different approach to sportsbook promo credits. The operator ranks towards the bottom in terms of giving away free betting money.
Online casino games come and go, but you can track them
In the months since online casino games launched in Pennsylvania, PAOnlineCasino has tracked the additions and subtractions to the offerings at the state’s five online operators.
After 11 titles were added in December, the first week of the new year has seen the addition of six new titles, one at SugarHouse and five at Parx.
Five others disappeared from two operators, three from Parx and two from Unibet online casino. Three of those were blackjack games.
Divine Fortune smiles for the tenth time
Divine Fortune, the progressive slot that keeps on giving at SugarHouse, offered up yet another life-changing win for a lucky player just after the turn of the year.
Stephanie J., who wants to remain anonymous, collected $140,000 on a $1 bet made while visiting family over the holidays.
The slot title debuted this summer but has paid off an astounding 10 times already at SugarHouse. It isn’t exclusively a SugarHouse game, but that’s where the lion’s share of the winners have struck.
Mattias Stetz, COO of Rush Street Interactive, the site’s operator, said:
“We love hearing how our players plan to use their winnings and how these jackpots will change their lives. This latest winner hitting the jackpot on a $1 bet also shows it doesn’t matter the amount you bet, anyone can win!”
