In the midst of another record-breaking month, online casinos in Pennsylvania reached a worthy milestone. Operators crossed the $400 million threshold in YTD online table games revenue for the first time ever.

PA online casinos have been soaring in every category as of late. While slots are the bread and butter of the state, table games are holding up their end of the bargain.

Pennsylvania online casinos set new table games revenue record

Online casinos in the Keystone have eclipsed the $185 million revenue threshold in each of the last three months and have broken a US record in two of them. Here are the following earnings outputs:

  • September: $187.3 million
  • October: $186.9 million
  • November: $191.9 million

November is the first time Pennsylvania went over the $190 million mark. It’s no surprise that the state posted all-time highs for slots and table games.

Table games revenue came in at $46.4 million in November. The state had never surpassed $45 million in a single month before this, and reached $40 million just five other times:

  • October 2023
  • September 2023
  • March 2023
  • January 2023
  • December 2022

With one month to go, table games revenue sits at $432.2 million in YTD earnings. Assuming operators clear at least $40 million in December, table games revenue will fall just shy of the $500 million mark. Either way, Pennsylvania has already shattered 2022’s total of $394.4 million.

What has made PA casinos online table games so successful?

The most popular table game available for Pennsylvania online casinos is blackjack. Operators make sure players are still getting a great experience playing random number generated games. Fanatics, an incoming platform in the Keystone State, told PlayPennsylvania the importance of attention to detail when building out the game for players.

“We really focused on making the blackjack experience have that premium feel. All of the details from how the cards flip over, the speed, the animation were painstakingly thought through,” Fanatics Chief Product Officer, Scot McClintic, said.

While most, if not all, operators have a similar philosophy, PA live dealer games have been a huge success for the industry. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), live dealer games accounted for more than 50% of online table games revenue in FY 2022/2023.

There are tons of live dealer options available for players, some of which are:

  • Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Craps
  • Three Card Poker
  • Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em
  • Football Studio

In addition to the classic titles above, there are many variations of roulette and blackjack games. Evolution Gaming, which powers live dealer games in Pennsylvania, has launched multiple new titles in the state. The company has even experimented with game show content for players.

Live dealer games are likely to take another leap after a different game manufacturer, Playtech, announced it is opening a brand new studio in the Keystone State.

The debut of new games and the potential for new competition will make the table games vertical that much more innovative going forward.
