The Pennsylvania online casino market is starting to settle into place. The Rivers Casino Philadelphia licensee, made up of BetRivers, Borgata and PlaySugarHouse, has secured the third spot in the state.

Rivers Casino Philadelphia has fallen to No. 3 after Valley Forge Casino passed it in recent months.

Despite being third, don’t rule out anything in the Pennsylvania market. PA online casinos are as competitive as can be.

Rivers Casino Philadelphia slips to third among PA online casino providers

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) breaks down revenue by license and not by operator. So, it can be difficult to determine the exact distribution of revenue between Borgata Casino PA, BetRivers Casino PA and PlaySugarHouse Casino PA.

Those three operators, in partnership with Rivers Casino Philadelphia, had occupied the No. 2 license in Pennsylvania behind Hollywood Penn National as early as 2023.

However, the emergence of FanDuel Casino PA and Stardust Casino PA, in partnership with Valley Forge Casino, has overtaken Rivers Philadelphia.

Rivers last led Valley Forge in May, when the two generated revenue of $35.9 million and $35.7 million, respectively. Rivers Casino Philadelphia also had the edge from January through March, too.

Since Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s May performance, the licensee has not achieved greater than $35 million. Valley Forge has topped that in every month since August, recording the following totals:

  • August: $39.4 million
  • September: $42.4 million
  • October: $43.8 million
  • November: $51 million

It’s clear that FanDuel and Stardust have pulled away from Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s trio of operators.

What makes Borgata a strong Pennsylvania online casino operator?

Borgata can hang its hat on one simple fact in Pennsylvania. The operator offers the most slots in the state by far. Borgata provides online casino players with 1,647 slots, which is an increase from the 1,616 titles it offered in November.

It supplies more PA slots than some of the other top operators in the state, which include:

Borgata has a similar look and feel to BetMGM’s online casino. It should be noted that BetMGM owns the Borgata brand.

Borgata also organizes its online casino in a way that showcases its popular game manufacturer partners. Some of those include:

Aristocrat

  • Buffalo
  • Buffalo Gold Collection
  • Timberwolf

High 5 Games

  • Mega Multi Diamonds
  • Platinum Goddess Extreme
  • Triple DaVinci Diamonds

EveryMatrix

  • Armadillo Goes West
  • Wildes of Wall Street
  • John Daly Spin It

Inspired Entertainment

  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Big Fishing Fortune
  • Big Egyptian Fortune

As long as Borgata is offering the most popular gaming content for players, it’ll always have a spot in the Pennsylvania online casino market.
