Mount Airy Casino is under new leadership.
The casino announced Ben Koff as the new Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Mount Airy.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) needs to approve the move.
Ben Koff’s history in the casino industry
Koff comes to Mount Airy Casino with 16 years of experience in the gaming industry with several roles such as marketing, finance and operations. He’s worked for Caesars Entertainment, Golden Nugget, Carnival Corporation, SBE Entertainment Group and, most recently, the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in Mississippi.
Koff will be in charge of the casino and resort’s operations, including gaming, guest services, human resources, financial performance and sales and marketing.
“Ben’s wealth of expertise in the gaming and hospitality industries, coupled with his passion for exceptional service, make him an invaluable asset to lead our executive team,” Lisa DeNaples, Mount Airy owner and managing trustee, said in a press release. “We are pleased to welcome Ben to the Mount Airy Team and look forward to all he will accomplish as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager.”
This will be Koff’s first professional experience working in Pennsylvania.
Smoking update at Mount Airy Casino
A controversial topic in Pennsylvania has always been smoking in casinos. Mount Airy started to allow smoking in May 2022 and was reported in August 2022.
Mount Airy Casino received plenty of negative feedback for allowing smoking again, which is still the case in January 2023.
They declined to comment on the matter back in August.
Where Mount Airy Casino ranks in slots and table games revenue in PA
Mount Airy Casino operates nearly 1,700 slot machines, 80 table games and also a retail sportsbook.
There are five PA casinos that rank higher in revenue than Mount Airy in slots in FY 2022/2023.
Mount Airy has recorded $66.6 million in slots revenue this fiscal year. The other casinos that rank above it are:
- Parx Casino: $160.4 million
- Wind Creek: $113.1 million
- Rivers Pittsburgh: $111 million
- Mohegan Pennsylvania: $76.3 million
- Hollywood Casino at The Meadows: $69 million
Mount Airy Casino generated $17.6 million in table games revenue this fiscal year, which ranks fifth in the state. Here are the casinos that rank higher:
- Wind Creek: $102 million
- Live! Casino Philadelphia: $41.6 million
- Rivers Philadelphia: $39.3 million
- Rivers Pittsburgh: $35.5 million
