Written By Corey Sharp on November 4, 2022
The Philadelphia Union and Daniel Gazdag look to earn the MLS Cup on Saturday.

The magic in the city of Philadelphia has rubbed off to the Union, who are joining the Phillies in pursuit of capturing a championship for the city. Pennsylvania sportsbooks now offer odds for this weekend’s MLS Cup, as the US soccer season finishes up.

The Union, the Eastern Conference’s top seed, defeated New York City FC, 3-1, in the conference semifinals. Trailing 1-0 in the 65th minute, the Union scored three unanswered goals within 11 minutes thanks to Julian Carranza, Daniel Gazdag and Cory Burke.

That sets up a date with the Western Conference’s No. 1 seedLos Angeles FC, which defeated Austin FC, 3-0.

There are plenty of ways to bet on the Union in the MLS Cup vs. Los Angeles FC. PA sportsbooks have the Union as a heavy underdog at +300 to win the MLS Cup. The match is scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. ET in Los Angeles.

Philadelphia Union vs. Los Angeles FC regular season recap

The Union got revenge against NYCFC in this year’s conference finals after losing to them last year with 11 players out due to COVID-19. The Union hope to do it again to LAFC after playing to a 2-2 draw on May 7.

Julian Carranza gave the Union a 2-1 lead in the May 7 matchup in the 67th minute. However, LAFC would respond with a goal from Franco Escobar, which knotted the score at two in the 82nd minute.

Daniel Gazdag, who assisted on Carranza’s goal, scored the game’s first goal in the 9th minute.

LAFC dominated the ball by possessing it 66% of the time and also had 12 corner kicks to the Union’s one.
