Accidental purchase of lottery ticket online wins $2 million

An accidental purchase of two Mega Millions tickets online has made a Michigan resident $2 million richer.

Samir Mazahem of Dearborn Heights, MI, accidentally bought two tickets from the Michigan Lottery for the June 9 drawing. The first winning ticket online was no accident, and Mazahem used his family’s birthdays. However, the second ticket (with the same numbers) was purely a mistake after Mazahem noticed that he forgot to save these numbers as favorites.

Apparently, he was “a little bummed, but didn’t think much about it.” Then, after logging into the lottery app, Mazahem discovered that he had two $1 million tickets. A happy mistake, indeed.
