A whole two months have passed since the last huge Mega Millions jackpot was hit by a single ticket in Illinois, and the prize is gaining momentum again. After no ticket matched all six numbers in the previous drawing, the jackpot rolls to $355 million for Sept. 30.
A potential winner tonight could choose to take the cash value of the prize in a single payment. The lump sum cash value of tonight’s jackpot is $183.6 million, before withholding.
Just last week, the most recent jackpot winner finally claimed their $1.337 billion prize in Illinois. The winning ticket was shared by more than one player, who agreed to split the prize if they won. The winners chose to remain anonymous, and the Illinois Lottery is unable to share any information about the winners’ identities.

A PA Lottery player from Dauphin County hit a $5 million win
You might remember the PA Lottery’s first and only $50 scratch-off that was released late last year, the $5 Million Money Maker. There are still plenty of those tickets available for sale at lottery retailers across the state. This week, another player hit the $5 million top prize on the ticket.
The winning ticket was sold at Beer N Cigar, located at 3842 Union Deposit Road in Harrisburg. The retailer receives a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Against all odds, this week’s win was the second top prize from the $5 Million Money Maker hit in Harrisburg. In April, a ticket sold by Herr Quick Stop was also a $5 million winner. Two more top prizes remain to be won on that ticket.
