Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot remains the largest one to shoot for at the moment, jumping to $325 million for Sept. 27. The cash value, if a winner chooses to take the prize in a single payment, would be $172.5 million for tonight’s prize before withholding.
Mega Millions drawings are held twice weekly, on Tuesday and Friday nights. The last jackpot win was eight weeks ago, when the prize had reached $1.337 billion. That prize, hit in Illinois, became the third highest jackpot ever won in the US and the world overall.
A lucky player in last Friday’s drawing hit the second-tier prize by matching all five white balls drawn, but not the yellow Mega Ball. Adding to their luck, the Texas player added the Megaplier option to their ticket when purchasing and had their $1 million prize increased to $4 million. The multiplier drawn on Friday was 4x.
