A winner tonight can opt to take the winnings in a single payment equal to the cash value of the jackpot, which is $138 million before withholding. Otherwise, the annuity is paid out to the winner over 29 years in 30 payments that increase each year.

On Tuesday, the Megaplier drawn was 4x, which means that lucky player could have had a $4 million payday if they had spent the extra $1 for the ticket add-on. The odds of the 4x Megaplier coming up are 1 in 5. Even the lowest possible multiplier, 2x, doubles all prizes other than the jackpot.
