$1 million Iowa winner tells her story
Karen Kramer of eastern Iowa actually bought her lucky Mega Millions ticket while on vacation to her cabin along the Mississippi River. According to Kramer, she was in disbelief after checking her ticket with the lottery’s mobile app.
“I rechecked everything because I thought, ‘Well, my phone’s wrong.’” And it came up again the same,” said Kramer, who is employed as a para-educator by her local school district.
“So I went on the website, then I went and checked on Facebook and it said that the winning ticket had been won at Barry’s. And I’m going, ‘OK, that’s me!’”
Kramer bought her ticket at Barry’s Mini Mart located on 403 W. Chestnut St. in Harpers Ferry in IA for the June 8, 2021 drawing. Although Kramer and her husband are planning on investing the bulk of the lucky win, she also desires to get a dog.
