Well, well, the Mega Millions jackpot just hit for the fifth time in 2020.

As a recap, the winning numbers for Sept. 15 were 25 – 28 – 38 – 59 – 62, with a Megaball of 22. The winner of the Mega jackpot bought the ticket in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, and won a mouthwatering $119 million, or $94.6 million in cash.

The winning ticket was sold by Kwik Trip, at 4924 Spring St. in Mount Pleasant. Kwik Trip doesn’t walk away empty-handed, either. In fact, the store receives a $100,000 bonus just for selling the winner.

An honorable mention also goes to a lucky ticket holder in Georgia who matched all five white balls for $1 million.

2020 Mega Millions jackpot winners

While this is the Badger State’s first-ever Mega jackpot winner, there were four other big winners in 2020.

  • The biggest jackpot of the year hit in Arizona for $414 million on June 9.
  • New Jersey has had two jackpot winners, with $202 million on Feb. 11 and $123 million on June 9.
  • California rounds out the jackpots with $22 million on July 31.

Back in Pennsylvania, you can safely and securely buy Mega Millions tickets online. Even better, the PA online lottery offers up to $500 in a deposit match bonus plus an additional $20 to new players just for signing up here.

Winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday, Sept. 18

Now that the Mega Millions jackpot has hit, this new round sees the jackpot reset to $20 million, or an estimated $15.9 million cash value. Remember that there are no minimums guaranteed on the jackpots for now.

Rather, the jackpots are based on ticket sales and interest rates. As a side note, this explains why the Sept. 15 Mega Millions jackpot that hit was higher than previously noted.

Mega Millions drawings take place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. EST. Afterward, winning numbers are reported below.

Winning numbers: 26 – 29 – 41 – 52 -64, Megaball: 11

Don’t throw away those nonwinners. If you have any nonwinning lottery tickets, make sure to enter into the PA Lottery Second-Chance drawing promotion.
