Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs To $248 Million, Winning Numbers May 12

Written By Valerie Cross on May 12, 2020

The Mega Millions jackpot is now up to $248 million for the Tuesday, May 12 drawing. That means a whopping $197.4 million for matching all six numbers and taking the cash option.

With the jackpot so high, it’s no wonder more and more people are flocking online to buy their draw tickets in Pennsylvania. The fact that many lotto retailers are still closed for coronavirus precautions makes the online option all the more convenient.

The winning Mega Millions numbers for last drawing on May 8 were 5 – 20 – 22 – 61 – 70 with a megaball of 04. The multiplier was 2x.

No one hit the jackpot and no tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million or $2 million (with the megaplier). However, ten tickets did match four white balls and the megaball to win $10,000.

If any of them would have added the $1 megaplier to their ticket, it would have doubled to $20,000.

With the new Mega Millions and Powerball rules, the jackpot will reset to $20 million after it is hit. That is down from the regular $40 million reset amount. Until then, the jackpot continues to climb toward the $300 million-mark.
