The main multi-state games are heating up again, with both games’ top prizes crossing the $100 million mark. Offering the larger prize of the two, Mega Millions has a drawing tonight, with an estimated $116 million jackpot for Aug. 23. The lump sum cash value of tonight’s prize is $65.6 million, before withholding.
This summer has been quite eventful for the multi-state lottery games, with three big jackpots awarded since late June. PA players have hit their fair share of great prizes, including a $206 million jackpot earlier this month.
In the previous drawing on Friday, one player in Iowa hit the $1 million prize by matching the first five white balls drawn. That player missed the gold Mega Ball, but they also missed out on the 4x Megaplier. The optional Megaplier add-on costs an extra $1 and multiplies all prizes other than the jackpot. The Megaplier is not available in all areas.
