Mega Millions awarded a major jackpot just over two weeks ago that ranked as the second highest ever for the game, and the third largest in history. The grand prize has since reset, and it’s heating up quickly. For Aug. 16, the Mega Millions jackpot rolls to $86 million. The lump sum cash value of the prize is about $47 million before taxes.
So far this year, five players across the US have hit life-changing jackpot wins with Mega Millions. The jackpot was hit twice in April in consecutive drawings. A couple in Minnesota won $110 million on April 12, and took the $66.9 million cash option for their prize. In the very next drawing on April 15, a ticket sold in Tennessee hit the $20 million prize.

PA Lottery Second-Chance Drawing deadline approaching
