Following the first full week since the last Mega Millions jackpot was hit, the current jackpot prize sits at an estimated $31 million for April 26. The cash value of tonight’s prize is $18.4 million.

Be wary of fraudulent lottery imposters
This week, Mega Millions issued an alert regarding new types of scams that use the Mega Millions name in an attempt to trick unsuspecting consumers. These types of scams often come in the form of text messages, emails, or phone calls.
One of these scams uses WhatsApp to send users a fake award notification for a cash gift. These messages use an image that includes the Mega Millions logo and a photo of a check. The scammer hopes that recipients of the message will pay a large fee to claim their “prize.”
You will never have to pay a fee to redeem a real Mega Millions or other lottery prize.
Another scam is conducted by telephone, by a caller claiming to be a representative of Mega Millions or another organization. The caller can sound convincing, but don’t fall for it. Mega Millions does not call winners; it is up to you to claim any real lottery prize.
No legitimate lottery organization in the US awards prizes based on randomly choosing a phone number or email address. These types of messages or calls are always scams.
