Memorial Day came and went, and the Mega Millions jackpot continues to soar ever higher. For the May 26 drawing, the Grand Prize stands at $313 million ($249.8 million for the cash option).

If any ticket matches all six balls, it will be an enormous haul for the winner. Friday night’s winning numbers were 8 – 10 – 20 – 44 – 46 with a megaball of 18 and a multiplier of 4x. The $1 megaplier will multiply any non-jackpot winnings by the factor drawn.

No tickets on May 22 hit the jackpot, and none matched the five white balls to win $1 million (or $4 million). But 27 tickets matched four white balls plus the gold megaball. That was worth $10,000 for most, but five of them had the megaplier, making it a $40,000 win.

For those lotto players living in Pennsylvania, tickets are available for purchase online from the convenience of home –  on desktop or mobile. If you sign up here, you will receive a free $20 and a generous deposit bonus up to $250 to get you started.

New Mega Millions changes can’t keep jackpot down

With so many lottery retailers affected by coronavirus closures nationwide, draw lottery rules have changed temporarily. Once the monstrous jackpot hits, it will reset to $20 million rather than the usual $40 million. That might provide more incentive to chase the current pot of gold.

The other major change is to the roll amount from drawing to drawing. There is currently no minimum increase, but that doesn’t seem to matter much for the current Mega Millions jackpot.

The PA iLottery meanwhile continues to grow, recently crossing $1 billion in sales within its first two years in operation.

Best of luck and play responsibly. And remember, all PA lottery proceeds benefit older Pennsylvanians.
