The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) announced a record-breaking fiscal year in its annual report released earlier this month. Despite slots generating the majority of online casino revenue, PA live dealer games have contributed their fair share, too. The PGCB said that live dealer games are responsible for more than 50% of online table games revenue.
Live dealer titles are not the only sector that has seen increases in the gambling market within the state. Retail casinos are still churning out impressive revenue totals, while PA casinos online overall are a huge reason why Pennsylvania generated $5.51 billion in FY 2022/2023 revenue.
Pennsylvania online casino live dealer games have increased in popularity
The idea of playing PA live dealer games from the comfort of your own home is arguably one of the most innovative strategies operators have employed.
It’s no secret that slots drive the majority of online casino revenue. However, live dealer games are proving to meet a demand generated by players.
During FY 2022/2023, online casinos produced $1.53 billion in total revenue, the most ever since going live in 2019. Here is the distribution of earnings:
- Slots: $1.07 billion
- Table games: $428.5 million
- Poker: $31.9 million
Each vertical is up considerably from FY 2021/2022. The PGCB said in the annual report from a year ago that live dealer games made up “approximately” 50% of online table games revenue.
In the latest report, the PGCB made the increase clear:
“Live Dealer Studio Games revenue now accounts for more than 50% of the interactive table games revenue, opposed to random number generator games that simulate the play of table games.”

Available live dealer games on Pennsylvania online casinos
The most popular live dealer games played on PA online casinos are blackjack.
Online operators have added other table games, too, which feature:
- Roulette
- Baccarat
- Craps
- Three Card Poker
- Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em
- Football Studio
There are also multiple forms of roulette. Those variations include:
- Lightning roulette
- American roulette
- European roulette
- VIP roulette
- Auto roulette
Live dealer options also provide step-by-step instructions on how to play these table games. Evolution Gaming is the company that powers live dealer games in PA. Its North America CEO, Jacob Claesson, told PlayPennsylvania in May why live dealer games are so popular:
“There’s less pressure, there’s no one sitting at your shoulder upset about your decisions. There’s also much more flexibility in the game online than in land-based casinos; with our games players can enter the play in the middle of a shoe, and with games like our Infinite Blackjack players can even see how other players are choosing to act, which helps them to quickly learn what the best strategy might be when playing.”
PA online casino overall growth
In addition to live dealer games, PA online casinos have grown as whole from last fiscal year. The 2021/2022 FY produced the following online casino revenue totals:
- Slots: $847.5 million
- Table games: $349.6 million
- Poker: $35.2 million
Each vertical rose thanks to the popularity of online casino games in the market. Pennsylvania players can now play more than 8,000 slot games across 20 platforms.
The Keystone State added Bally Casino PA and Tropicana Casino PA last fiscal year, which gives players even more options to play slots or table games. The state isn’t done growing, with Golden Nugget Casino PA launching last August (FY 2023/2024), with Fanatics and PlayStar likely to enter the field next.
While live dealer games are continuing to grow, so is online casino revenue in Pennsylvania.
