BetMGM unveiled an innovative new type of game at the recent Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
The “Hybrid Dealer” game, MGM Bonus City, combines live dealer footage with computer-generated graphics, and it’s coming soon to BetMGM Pennsylvania.
Hybrid Dealer games open up new possibilities for BetMGM PA
With the popularity of live dealer games on the rise, BetMGM has partnered with Inspired Entertainment to take these titles to the next level. Inspired Entertainment is a global game content developer that has created popular virtual sports games, as well as online and land-based casino games.
Together, they’ve created a new category of game called Hybrid Dealer, which allows the appearance of a real dealer within a branded casino or game show setting. Real dealer footage combined with green screen technology means there’s no need for a live studio, and games are hosted 24/7. Just like in a real casino, the dealers and hosts change throughout the day.
The new technology will debut in a single game for now, but more Hybrid Dealer games will follow.
Brooks Pierce, President and CEO of Inspired Gaming, said in a press release:
“Our patented technology offers unparalleled opportunities for our customers to provide a realistic ‘as live’ experience to players without the logistics of dedicated studios and staffing. This is just the start of a whole new category of games.”

MGM Bonus City debuts as the first Hybrid Dealer game
The first Hybrid Dealer title in MGM Bonus City recently launched in New Jersey and will go live in Michigan and PA soon. BetMGM thinks the first-of-its-kind game will catch on with customers.
Oliver Bartlett, Senior Director of Gaming at BetMGM, said in the release:
“MGM Bonus City brings an added level of fun to BetMGM, allowing players to experience MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas casinos in a new way. We’re confident that our customers will enjoy this unique digital offering.”
In the new game, players find themselves in Las Vegas – virtually of course. The host spins a wheel with eight potential outcomes after the game awards a random prize multiplier that can boost players’ winnings. Four bonus rounds are on the wheel, themed after the Las Vegas MGM properties: New York-New York, Luxor, MGM Grand and Bellagio.
More partnerships keep BetMGM among top PA online casinos
BetMGM ranked third in app downloads in August, according to a report from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming. Online casino giants DraftKings Casino PA and FanDuel Casino PA had the most and second-most downloads, respectively. BetMGM also ranks third in online casino market share, after losing a little ground last quarter.
But the company isn’t slipping. In terms of slot count, BetMGM PA offers the second-largest selection of game titles, second only to Borgata Casino PA, which is also owned by BetMGM. Together, the two account for 28.3% of all online slot titles available in PA.
Furthermore, BetMGM has been busy forging new partnerships that will bring even more new games to the popular platform. A recently announced partnership with Atlantic Digital brought a new slot based on the mafia film The Godfather. BetMGM says more movie and TV-show-themed games are on the way via the Atlantic partnership.
