Partners Scientific Games Corporation and Caesars Entertainment expect to launch a Pennsylvania online sportsbook in Pennsylvania later this month, according to a release.
That could mean a mobile sportsbook finally for Harrah’s Philadelphia, a Caesars’ property in Chester, PA, with a retail sportsbook which opened in January, but still with no online betting option.
While the release says a September launch is coming, it offered no specific date for a Caesars Online Sportsbook launch.
UPDATE Sept 13: Caesars has since amended the press release, removing the mention of a September launch. This suggests it will more likely be October before a Harrah’s betting app joins the market.
A new digital sportsbook would mean six for PA
The Keystone State currently has five digital sportsbooks running and will have 10 brick-and-mortar books or OTB sites approved by the end of the week. In July, online books accounted for more than 65 percent of the PA sportsbook market.
The partnership is already in the midst of a rapid retail sportsbook expansion in Indiana. Their first sportsbook launched Sept. 1 in the Hoosier State and they expect to add six more locations in Indiana by month’s end. As of now, there is still no online betting in Indiana.
Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville, Indiana opened recently. Horseshoe Hammond, Horseshoe Southern Indiana Hotel and Casino, and Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will be added, as well as off-track betting locations in Indianapolis, Clarksville, and New Haven.

Scientific Games Corporation and Caesars Entertainment have partnerships in five states.
The Caesars and SG partnership is already in Iowa, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Illinois and North Carolina are on their expansion horizon.

More Caesars online sportsbooks in the works
The partners plan to take mobile to Iowa in late 2019.
