PGA Tour Announces 2021 Schedule, RG Efforts

Snow is falling in parts of Pennsylvania.

So it’s nice to think about other things.

Warmer days. Sunshine. Golf.

The 2021 PGA season is still a ways away, but DraftKings gave everyone something to look forward to with a recent tweet. The screenshot highlighted the year’s biggest tournaments, starting with The Players Championship on March 11. The full rundown of notable tournaments is as follows:

  • The Players Championship: March 11-14
  • The Masters: April 8-11
  • The PGA Championship: May 20-23
  • US Open: June 17-20
  • The Open: July 15-18
  • Summer Olympics: July 29-Aug. 1
  • FedEx Cup Playoffs: Aug. 19
  • The Ryder Cup: Sept. 24-26

DraftKings has futures betting posted for all of the PGA majors

Now that you know the schedule, you may be inclined to explore some futures odds for the upcoming golf season. And DraftKings has you covered. The sportsbook already has pricing posted for all of the 2021 majors.

And after a stellar season last year, Dustin Johnson is the current favorite for all of them. In the Masters, Johnson is +700. But in the PGA Championship (+1000), the U.S. Open (+1000) and The Open Championship (+900), Johnson’s odds are a little longer.

Outside of Johnson, you’ll notice many other golf superstars filling up the futures board. Here are the top five favorites for each tournament, along with their futures pricing.

The Masters

  • Johnson: +700
  • Bryson DeChambeau: +800
  • Rory McIlroy: +900
  • Jon Rahm: +1000
  • Justin Thomas: +1000

The PGA Championship

  • Johnson: +1000
  • McIlroy: +1000
  • Rahm: +1100
  • Thomas: +1200
  • DeChambeau: +1400

The U.S. Open

  • Johnson: +1000
  • Rahm: +1100
  • DeChambeau: +1200
  • McIlroy: +1200
  • Thomas: +1200

The Open Championship

  • Johnson: +900
  • Rahm: +1000
  • DeChambeau: +1200
  • McIlroy: +1400
  • Brooks Koepka: +1600

Player props, tiers and daily fantasy provide many entry points into golf betting

For those who are somewhat new to golf betting, PA sports betting apps provide plenty of options to get into the action. As the tournaments draw closer, the sportsbooks will add more wagers. Common offerings for golf betting include the tournament winner, as well as pricing for finishes in the top 5, top 10, top 20, and make/miss the cut wagers.

There are also typically a number of prop bets available for each tournament.

And for daily fantasy players, DraftKings often hosts a contest with a million-dollar prize pool for golf’s majors. Other contests are available at all price points.

So even as snow is falling in certain places, spring beckons at Pennsylvania’s sportsbooks.

Golf odds and wagers will fill up the board.

Players will tee it up at the tournaments.

And there will be plenty of action for those who want to join in. But the PGA Tour reminds fans who do to always gamble responsibly.

PGA Tour joins AGA campaign for responsible gambling

Just this week, the PGA Tour announced it is officially joining the American Gaming Association‘s public service campaign for responsible gambling, “Have a game plan. Bet responsibly.

PGA’s messaging will encourage its fans to “Know when to lay up.” Expect the co-branded responsible gaming PSAs to appear on social and gaming platforms as well as on PGA broadcasts like PGA Tour Radio. In a press release, Scott Warfield, VP of gaming at the PGA Tour, said:

“A key pillar of the PGA Tour’s sports betting strategy is responsible gaming and ensuring our fans are equipped with the appropriate resources so they are properly prepared and educated. By aligning with the American Gaming Association in support of its ‘Have a game plan’ campaign, we’re able to align our efforts and provide a consistent message focused on responsible gaming.”

PGA joins NASCAR and the NHL as league partners in the “Have a game plan” campaign, which launched in 2019. The fundamentals of the messaging include:

  • Set a budget and stick to it.
  • Keep betting social.
  • Know the odds.
  • Play with trusted, regulated operators.

The Tour is already a platinum member of the National Council on Problem Gambling and says it has a “robust integrity program in collaboration with Genius Sports.” Official betting partners of the PGA Tour include DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel and PointsBet.
