The odds are in your favor. Like, a lot.
The UFC is returning to the octagon Saturday night for the third time in a week with Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez 2 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. And FanDuel is adding a whole lot more to the action by boosting either main event fighter to 25-1 odds for new users in all applicable states.
It’s one of the biggest bonuses we’ve seen all summer. So let’s take a deeper look at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez 2 for all the bettors who are ready to take advantage.
Figueiredo a strong favorite in Saturday’s rematch
Deiveson Figueiredo enters Saturday night as a solid favorite after winning this same fight just five months earlier. As noted in a CBS Sports preview, Figueiredo defeated Joseph Benavidez via second-round TKO in February but did not earn the title belt with his victory because he had failed to make weight for the fight.
Figueiredo is -225 at BetRivers Sports Betting, PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings heading into the flyweight title fight. The Brazilian fighter has an impressive 18-1 record, his only loss coming via decision in March 2019.
Benavidez is a more experienced fighter (28-6) but is a clear underdog at +180. Fox Bet has him at +175 and FanDuel Sportsbook has him at +184, revealing some pricing differences that make it worth shopping around.
The FanDuel promo boosts odds on either fighter to 25-1 for new users only. To obtain the bonus, new users will have to register a new account, make a deposit with FD SBK and use the FanDuel app to make the wager. The promo is restricted to a max bet of $5.
Hermansson, Gastelum even in co-main event
In the co-main event, middleweights Jack Hermansson and Kelvin Gastelum are both -112 at BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings. Hermansson (20-5) has had a long layoff after losing his last fight to Jared Cannonier in September 2019. Gastelum is looking to rebound after losing two fights in a row and three of his last five.
The rest of the matchups for Saturday’s 12-fight card and the moneyline odds at BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse are as follows:
- Marc Diakiese (-167) vs. Rafael Fiziev (+135)
- Ariane Lipske (-125) vs. Luana Carolina (+100)
- Alexandre Pantoja (-215) vs. Askar Askarov (+170)
- Roman Dolidze (-200) vs. Khadis Ibragimov (+155)
- Grant Dawson (-250) vs. Nad Narimani (+200)
- Joe Duffy (-335) vs. Joel Alvarez (+250)
- Brett Johns (+175) vs. Montel Jackson (-225)
- Malcolm Gordon (+133) vs. Amir Albazi (-167)
- Davi Ramos (+162) vs. Arman Tsarukyan (-200)
- Carlos Felipe (+125) vs. Serghei Spivac (-155)
Many of Saturday night’s fights have a number of betting options beyond the moneyline, with UFC betting available on the method of victory, the winning round and whether or not the fight will go the distance.
DraftKings Island Throwdown offers top prize of $150K
As always, daily fantasy players will have plenty of avenues into Saturday’s UFC action as well. The featured MMA contest at DraftKings is the $18 entry Island Throwdown, with a $600K prize pool and a top payout of $150,000. Second place earns $60,000 and third place receives $30,000.
Over at FanDuel, the Saturday UFC Octagon has a $150K prize pool and a first-place payout of $30,000. Second ($15,000) and third place ($10,000) also receive healthy returns.
Both sites have a number of contests at all price points to fit your budget. And with the other major sports (baseball, basketball, hockey) set to return soon, the daily fantasy sites have started to post some satellites and qualifiers for those as well.
Action begins at 5 p.m. on “Fight Island”
