Written By Corey Sharp on March 21, 2024
Round fanatics logo is creating a ripple impact in a pond. Fanatics Sportsbook ranked eighth with handle of nearly $16 million in its first full month in Pennsylvania.

Early returns show that Fanatics Sportsbook had a strong February in its first full month since launching in the Keystone State. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported the new operator produced $15.9 million in February handle.

While nearly $16 million in handle might not sound like a lot, everyone has to start somewhere. With that total, Fanatics is already in competition with several PA online sportsbooks.

Fanatics is going to have a bright future in the Pennsylvania sports betting landscape. The new operator debuted in late January with a sportsbook and an online casino.

Despite ranking eighth and towards the bottom in total February handle, Fanatics ranked ahead of betPARX, which is a much more established operator. BetPARX launched in the Keystone State in March 2022.

It’s going to be difficult for Fanatics to catch FanDuel and DraftKings. They generated $276.1 million and $177.3 million in handle, respectively, However, the new operator is in line to compete with the second tier of sportsbooks within the state.

Here are where the rest of the operators placed in PA after the market leaders:

  • ESPN BET: $52.2 million
  • BetMGM: $36.7 million
  • Caesars: $31.6 million
  • BetRivers: $23.5 million
  • PlaySugarHouse: $16.7 million
  • Fanatics: $15.9 million

Don’t be surprised if Fanatics keeps climbing the ranks in the subsequent months.

What Fanatics offers that separates itself from other Keystone State sportsbooks

Though Fanatics is new to the gambling industry, it entered the market well-prepared with enticing promotions and a strong platform.

Customers that place a wager through the new sportsbook have the opportunity to earn FanCash, which can be accumulated the following ways:

  • Straight bet: Up to 1% of the amount bet
  • Parlay bet: Up to 3% of the amount bet
  • Same-game parlay: Up to 5% of the amount bet

FanCash can be redeemed to buy merchandise on its website or used as bonus bets on the sportsbook.

In addition, the operator offers customers an industry-leading search bar within the app and a personalized homepage. The press release said:

“The Fanatics Sportsbook Discover page features marquee games, trending bets, promos and the rewards you want most. In the near future, the Discover page will be personalized to the customer’s favorite teams, sports and markets.”

The operator also launched its own PA online casino, which customers can rack up FanCash playing slots and tables the following ways:

  • Slots: 0.2% of wager
  • Table games: 0.05% of wager

Fanatics is becoming an all-purpose operator within the market. Sportsbooks that aren’t FanDuel and DraftKings should be looking over their shoulders when March revenue drops next month.
