Eagles vs. Commanders takes place on Monday Night Football, with Jalen Hurts looking to boost his MVP status.

The Houston Texans put up a decent fight but were ultimately no match for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles improved to 8-0 with a 29-17 victory over the Texans on Thursday Night Football. It’s the Eagles’ best start in franchise history.

Although Eagles fans are happy with the win, Eagles bettors might not be. The Eagles did not cover as a 14-point favorite and under bettors of 45 or 45.5 went to sleep crushed. The Texans committed a penalty on an extra point, which allowed the Eagles to run a play from the 1-yard line in the fourth quarter. Jalen Hurts promptly converted the two points on a rush.

Hurts finished 21-for-27 for 243 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Brown (4 rec, 59 yards) and Dallas Goedert (8 rec, 100 yards) each caught a touchdown pass. Miles Sanders rushed for 93 yards and touchdown.

The Eagles put their 8-0 record on line in a divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. NFL betting lines set the undefeated Eagles as an 11-point favorite over the Commanders. The over/under total is 44 points.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, who enjoyed a bye in Week 9, are 2.5-point home underdogs against the Saints at 1 p.m. The total is set at 41.5.
