DraftKings builds brand presence
The gift card was made possible through an agreement with InComm Payments, a payments technology company. DraftKings is leveraging InComm Payments’ retail network to expand its physical distribution and brand presence at frequently visited places like convenience stores and pharmacies.
Matt Kalish, co-founder and president of DraftKings, commented in a press release:
“Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, we are proud to work with InComm Payments to get DraftKings gift cards on the shelves at several popular retailers. We are thrilled to provide our customers with another way to fund their accounts and engage with our real-money products through this first-of-its-kind offering.”
Tim Richardson, senior vice president at InComm Payments, added:
“DraftKings’ popularity has grown substantially over the last couple of years, and their fan base is large and passionate. This agreement not only offers consumers a great gifting opportunity but also represents a significant brand expansion and enhancement opportunity for DraftKings who, for the first time, will benefit from having its brand present in tens of thousands of InComm Payments’ retail partner locations across the U.S.”
DraftKings in PA
DraftKings operates in Pennsylvania through its license with The Meadows. Since arriving in November 2019, DK has established itself as the No. 2 sportsbook in PA in terms of handle and revenue.
On Dec. 23, the sportsbook is offering a “Joel Embiid to score over 7.5 points promotion” for the Philadelphia 76ers opener against the Washington Wizards. Following opt-in, users located in PA will be given a single-use odds boost (max bet $25).
