On Monday, the sportsbook announced a multiyear partnership with Charles Barkley just in time for Tuesday’s tip-off of a new NBA season.

According to a news release from FanDuel, the partnership designates FanDuel as Barkley’s exclusive sports betting and daily fantasy sports partner. Additionally, Barkley will serve as the company’s brand ambassador and spokesperson and will appear in FanDuel advertising and Turner Sports promotions featuring FanDuel’s free-to-play contests.

Season’s greetings from “St. Chuck” and FanDuel arrived yesterday

A sampling of Barkley’s new branding arrived yesterday, with some FanDuel users receiving an email from “St. Chuck” offering a free entry in a daily fantasy contest.

FanDuel also has two “Barkley Boosts” available for today’s NBA season openers.

In the first matchup, a prop bet on Steph Curry to be the top scorer in the Golden State-Brooklyn game has received a “Barkley Boost” up to +240.

And in the late game, a Los Angeles Lakers vs. Clippers showdown, a wager on Lebron James to score more than 21.5 points has been boosted to +100.

Other bet boosts for Tuesday night’s action include the following:

  • Nets and Lakers to both win: +180
  • Two 3-point field goals scored in the first three minutes of Nets vs. Warriors: +110
  • Two 3-point field goals scored in the first three minutes of Lakers vs. Clippers: +110

Last chance for FanDuel futures bets before the season starts

If you’re planning to make a more traditional bet for the start of the season, FanDuel has that covered too. Futures bets on the NBA champion, season win totals and player award props are live now.

And for Tuesday’s single-game wagers, Brooklyn is currently a 7.5-point favorite. The Nets are -310 on the moneyline, while the Warriors are +250. The game’s total is set at 231.5.

And in the late game, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are 2.5-point favorites in the crosstown showdown with Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angles Clippers. The Lakers are -136 on the moneyline, while the Clippers are +116. The game’s over/under is set at 222 points.

Expect to see Barkley live on TNT’s studio coverage

The season starts at 7 p.m. tonight, and former Sixer Charles Barkley, one of basketball’s biggest personalities, is officially on the roster at Team FanDuel. Barkley should appear alongside Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’ Neal and Kenny Smith before and after the game in TNT’s always entertaining studio coverage.

St. Chuck is also bringing some free daily fantasy entries, and some bet boosts on the season openers too.

He’s naughty and nice and certain to be an asset for FanDuel in the months ahead.

Wherever Barkley goes, a whole bunch of fun usually follows close behind.

So you might as well join in.
