Wind Creek Casino has several locations around the world. To stay engaged with customers, Wind Creek has rolled out an app called Casinoverse. Wind Creek’s app won a gold medal at the Global Gaming Business (GGB) Gaming & Technology Awards last week for Best iGaming Product. It is for excellence in innovation and practical application in all gaming disciplines.

The app is different from Wind Creek’s PA casino online, and it is a way for customers to stay engaged with Wind Creek when not on the physical property.

Wind Creek’s Casinoverse is separate from its Pennsylvania online casino

The GGB just awarded Wind Creek with the Best iGaming Product. However, it is not the iGaming platform that many are accustomed to in Pennsylvania.

The games on this app are completely free, which means that it is not a real money online casino. Anyone from anywhere in the country is able to download the app and play the following options:

  • Slots
  • Table games
  • Card games
  • Idle games

There is also a social wall where players can chat with each other while playing games inside the app. Players can earn reward points to be redeemed at any Wind Creek location through these gaming options. Pennsylvania players would redeem reward points at Wind Creek Bethlehem.

Wind Creek President and CEO, Jay Dorris, told PlayPennsylvania that his company employed a concept called Online to On-Property (OLOP) to remain engaged with customers. Casinoverse covers the “online” portion of the acronym.

“Casinoverse is the latest iteration of our virtual engagement space and we treat it as another property, even though it’s virtual.”

Dorris continued on the difference between Casinoverse and Wind Creek’s online casino platform:

“They’re in two different worlds. One of them, you go into the real money wagering side and that’s in a regulated, and in our case, a Pennsylvania market. We can only offer that in Pennsylvania. The Casinoverse is available everywhere because it is not wagering and gaming regulators have not tried to say it is any form of wagering. It’s an engagement tool that allows us to stay connected with our customers.”

Dorris said that Wind Creek launched Casinoverse after the pandemic. Combining the regular Wind Creek app and Casinoverse users, there are approximately 107,000 people connected to Wind Creek virtually. There are about 24,000 users for Casinoverse alone.

Dorris did mention that there is no age requirement to download and sign up for a Casinoverse account. However, all rewards must be redeemed at a retail Wind Creek property. Underage players would not be able to get past casino security to redeem any rewards.

Wind Creek offers tons of rewards and perks for Casinoverse players. Those include:

  • Bonus play at a Wind Creek property
  • Money off hotel stays
  • Food credits

Dorris explained he didn’t exactly know the competition level for this type of gaming. However, he went on to say:

“What we’re doing, I think, is fairly unique. We’re offering a gaming world with 100,000 people a day that are active and going to this world. We’re tying it back into our physical properties very tightly through the OLOP mechanic.”

Wind Creek has the luxury of a database with “millions of players,” Dorris said. Wind Creek uses that database to blast customers on the virtual gaming world that is available to them, not involving real money wagering. Dorris noted that Wind Creek’s acquisition costs are lower than other casinos because of its database.

Wind Creek Bethlehem is one of the top Pennsylvania casinos

Wind Creek Bethlehem’s marketing efforts appear to be working. The property is second behind Parx Casino Bensalem in slots and table games revenue. Here are the top three grossing casinos for slots and table games in FY 2022/2023:

Slots

  • Parx Casino Bensalem: $389.9 million
  • Wind Creek Bethlehem: $278.9 million
  • Rivers Casino Pittsburgh: $269.5 million

Table games

In July 2022, Wind Creek Casino broke a Pennsylvania single-month record for table game earnings, bringing in $23.6 million. Wind Creek Bethlehem also made the list as American Gaming Association’s Top 20 Commercial Casinos Outside Nevada.

Wind Creek Bethlehem is one of the top retail casinos, not only in Pennsylvania, but in the country. It can attribute part of its success to Casinoverse’s virtual engagement with customers.
