Caesars Entertainment Releases Tropicana Online Casino In Pennsylvania

Tropicana online casino launched in Pennsylvania thanks to Caesars and Harrah's Philadelphia.

Another Pennsylvania online casino has entered the market. Tropicana Casino PA is the latest online casino to launch in the Keystone State. It is the second online casino license provided by Harrah’s Philadelphia, owned by Caesars Entertainment, in Pennsylvania.

The Chester casino is also the license holder for Caesars Casino PA.

After launching a second online casino under the Caesars name and previously rebranding its sports betting app, Caesars is making a play for more market share in both sectors.

Tropicana Casino Pennsylvania launches through Caesars

Caesars launched the second of its two online casinos in the Keystone State last week. In a statement to PlayUSA, Caesars said:

“The new iCasino app and online casino experience offers Pennsylvania customers a wide variety of classic and cutting-edge casino games, including American and European Roulette, market-leading slot games from best-in-class providers, Live Dealer Blackjack, Poker and Baccarat, and digital classics like Video Poker, and much more.”

Tropicana Casino PA has hundreds of slot games and 16 table games. The table games include variations of blackjack, poker, roulette and baccarat. The new online casino also has 27 live dealer tables and seven video poker rooms.

Caesars is building market share in PA

With the second launch of an online casino under the Harrah’s Philadelphia license, Caesars is indicating that it is here to stay in the Keystone State.

Harrah’s Philadelphia already operates Caesars PA Casino and is now including the latest Tropicana Casino. Pennsylvania is the largest online casino market in the country. In March, the Keystone State recorded $181.5 million in online casino revenue, breaking its own iGaming record it set back in December.

Pennsylvania has actually set revenue records in four of the last six months.

Harrah’s Philadelphia is sixth in revenue among license holders in the state, recording $16.3 million in revenue with just one operator in 2023.

The top two license holders, Hollywood Penn National and Rivers Philadelphia, operate multiple online casinos and drive much of the revenue in Pennsylvania. Hollywood Penn National has already recorded $212.6 million to Rivers Philadelphia’s $107.3 million in revenue this year.

It’s unlikely that Harrah’s Philadelphia will ever reach that status. But, it’s clear that Caesars is making a strong play for additional market share.

Caesars Sportsbook PA has seen the benefits pay off for its sports betting app since rebranding in August. For the first time in March, Caesars finished fourth in handle, leap-frogging Barstool Sportsbook.

In a 2022 Q1 earnings call, CEO Tom Reeg mentioned how he has always had Pennsylvania on his mind.

“In terms of building share, these are states where we’re undeniably late to the game. We’re going to be smart about how much resources we throw at them, but roll in tying them into our brick-and-mortar business. Obviously, we’ve got a lot of customers out of Pennsylvania, both in Chester and in Atlantic City. We’d expect to continue to grind higher in market share.”

This goal is finally starting to come to fruition.
