Borgata Is A Strong Player In Pennsylvania Online Casino Market

Borgata online casino provides a sizable impact in the PA market.

Pennsylvania is among the top markets in online casino revenue and expansion. Multiple PA online casinos have launched over the past year, with more in the pipeline.

Borgata Casino PA is one of the more popular platforms in the Keystone State. Much of it has to do with the array of online titles, as well as the well-known retail brand stationed in Atlantic City.

Borgata Casino contributes to Pennsylvania’s No. 1 spot in the online casino industry in a big way.

Borgata and BetMGM have similar online casino setups

It makes sense that if BetMGM Casino is a popular platform among PA players, Borgata Casino would be, too.

Borgata is owned by the BetMGM brand, as its online casino nearly mimics the Vegas-based company. BetMGM is licensed with Hollywood Casino in PA, which is the highest grossing licensee within the state. Hollywood’s online casino, PointsBet and DraftKings make up the rest of the platforms under the license.

Borgata is authorized through Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which also has skins with BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse.

We took a deep dive into the homepages of several PA online casinos, including BetMGM’s. Much like BetMGM, Borgata Casino features many of the exclusive titles as soon as you log in. It also includes MGM games and a Borgata-based slot:

  • MGM Riches: 5x Sapphires
  • MGM Riches: Triple Ruby
  • Borgata 777 Respin
  • Big Money Frenzy
  • NBA Gold
  • Gold Blitz
  • Diamond Rush
  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Captain Riches

The above games are all exclusive. The only title on the front window that isn’t exclusive is 88 Fortunes.

Borgata Casino launched with more than 150 slots and table games in 2021. Now, the platform has more than 600 slot titles alone. BetMGM and Borgata also have partnerships with PA sports teams, offering games in the following categories:

  • Philadelphia 76ers: Roulette and blackjack
  • Pittsburgh Steelers: Roulette and blackjack

Borgata also has NHL-branded roulette and blackjack games.

Borgata capitalizes off retail casino popularity

The Borgata brand is set up for great success. Not only is it under the BetMGM name, but the Borgata operation itself carries a ton of weight.

Though Borgata’s retail casino is located in Atlantic City, NJ, many players from Southeastern PA are familiar with the popular casino. It’s a go-to spot for players, especially in the Philadelphia region, to gamble and enjoy leisure time.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa ranked fourth in revenue among casinos outside Nevada in Q1 2023. The New Jersey location only placed behind the following venues in Q1 2023:

  • MGM National Harbor (MD)
  • Encore Boston Harbor (MA)
  • Live! Casino Maryland (MD)

PA online casino players can now also experience the Borgata brand in the comfort of their own home. Borgata online casino features lots of entertaining options, including its Borgata 777 Respin slot title, which is available on BetMGM, but not prominently displayed.

The game is a classic three-reel slot with symbols featuring the Borgata brand. The slot has a 96% Return to Player (RTP) mark. Players can hit big payouts with multiplier combinations.

Borgata online casino revenue impacts Pennsylvania market

Pennsylvania online casinos do not report revenue by operator. The state provides revenue breakdowns through the retail casino license holder.

Hollywood Casino’s licensees lead the state with $284.8 million in revenue year to date. Rivers Casino Philadelphia, who Borgata is licensed with, is second in the state, generating $140.5 million in revenue this year.

Though Rivers Casino Philadelphia ranks second YTD, Valley Forge Casino, which operates FanDuel Casino, surpassed the Philly casino in April revenue for the first time.

Borgata is still in a good spot within the state. BetMGM, on the other hand, is benefiting from its own brand and Borgata. Both establishments are some of the most well-known entities in the retail and online casino industry. Don’t expect either to fade away anytime soon.
