Villanova Basketball Betting Trends Heading Into Big East Play

Villanova Basketball Big East preview 2022

There’s a new man on the sidelines. And Villanova might encounter a few growing pains too, as the Wildcats face the first basketball season without Jay Wright in charge since the old coach took over in 2001.

Villanova is currently 5-5. The Wildcats started the season with their lowest AP poll rank since 2008. And they were picked to finish third in the Big East preseason poll.

But the expectations won’t change with new coach Kyle Neptune on the sidelines. Neptune has been a Villanova assistant since 2013. Since then, Villanova has won seven Big East regular-season titles, four Big East Tournament titles and two NCAA National Championships.

So no, the expectations won’t change much this season. And with the Wildcats opening Big East Conference play next Wednesday against St. John’s, it’s the perfect time to take a look at some numbers at Pennsylvania sportsbooks.

College Basketball betting options

College basketball games typically have three standard betting options at Pennsylvania’s sportsbooks and betting apps. Those are:

  • Point spread

Some sportsbooks will also have game props available, which can include quarter/half betting and races to select point totals, along with other offerings.

In addition, parlay wagers are also an option for players who link multiple games together.
