Just in time for their 2020-21 season tipoff, the Philadelphia 76ers announced a new sports betting partner. The recently launched BetMGM Sportsbook becomes an official sports betting partner of the Sixers.

Katie O’Reilly, the 76ers’ chief revenue officer, said in today’s presser:

“We are thrilled to partner with BetMGM and together create new, engaging experiences to deliver to our 76ers fans. This partnership will give us the ability to connect with our fans on the digital channels where they spend their time through customized 76ers branded games and activations. BetMGM will also propel us into a new space, strategically targeting fans in the sports betting and gaming realm.”

Fans and bettors can expect several cross-promotions, like betting specials on 76ers games, Sixers-branded casino games and BetMGM promotions on the official 76ers mobile app.

BetMGM and 76ers partnership details

In addition to some fun joint promos, expect to see BetMGM signage during 76ers games and across 76ers social platforms. The deal also designates MGM’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City as an “Official Away Game Host of the Philadelphia 76ers.”

That should amount to co-branded events hosted at Borgata once coronavirus restrictions are no longer a concern. One such event will be a Season Ticket Member and VIP party with casino games, 76ers legend appearances and autographed memorabilia prizes and raffles.

Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer for BetMGM, said:

“We’re honored to be an official sports betting partner of the 76ers. Our recent launch in Pennsylvania has been incredibly successful, and this partnership is an exciting opportunity for BetMGM to offer 76ers fans unique ways to engage with their favorite basketball team.”

BetMGM planting roots in PA

The BetMGM online casino made its PA debut in early December. The BetMGM online sportsbook followed with an official launch on Dec. 18. Eventually, PA will also be home to a BetMGM online poker room.

Pennsylvania marks the eighth jurisdiction where the popular online betting brand is now operational.

Before the 76ers deal, BetMGM formed ties with the Pittsburgh Steelers in late November. BetMGM is the first gaming partner of the Black and Yellow, which comes with a robust and passionate fan base.

It appears the thriving online gaming brand has sports marketing covered on both ends of the state. For the 76ers, BetMGM is the latest in a long line of gaming partners, both land-based and online.
