The partypoker US network recently signed Pennsylvania poker pro Darren “End Boss” Elias as a new brand ambassador. This week the network announced it will run a new online poker tournament series named after the four-time World Poker Tour champ.
The End Boss Poker Series is coming to Pennsylvania Nov. 23-28. The seven-event series will take place on the state’s two partypoker US network sites, BetMGM Poker PA and Borgata Poker PA.
Guaranteed prize pools across the series will total $230,000, highlighted by the climactic $1,060 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed Main Event on Nov. 28.
End Boss tournament series to run in three states at end of month
In fact, partypoker US network will run separate End Boss Poker Series in three different states over the same dates. Similar series will take place on the network’s sites in New Jersey as well as at BetMGM Poker Michigan.
In New Jersey, three different sites make up the partypoker US network. For the NJ version of the series, a similar seven-event schedule will feature $325,000 in guarantees. Meanwhile in Michigan, the guarantees will resemble those of the PA series, totaling $225,000.
Note that while sites on the partypoker US network do share player pools within each state, there is no sharing of player pools between states. Thus the End Boss Poker Series in PA, NJ and MI are each ring-fenced with players only competing against others within their state.
Variety of formats, buy-ins to accommodate wide range of PA poker players
When announcing the series, BetMGM Director of Poker Luke Staudenmeier noted how Elias contributed to the construction of the tournament series schedule.
“During the development process, we worked closely with Darren,” said Staudenmeier. Elias helped “ensure that the series was accessible” both to recreational players and full-timers.
This month the End Boss Poker Series occupies the spot on the calendar typically filled by the BetMGM Online Series. In October, that monthly series featured 10 events with $200,000 in total guarantees.
End Boss Poker Series buy-ins start at $215 before going up to that $1,060 Main Event. The schedule features six no-limit hold’em events. Among those are one progressive knockout bounty tournament and a freezeout (i.e., no rebuys). There is also one pot-limit Omaha tournament on the schedule.
Whoever wins the End Boss Main Event will be crowned “End Boss” of Pennsylvania. That player will also pick up a free entry into a New Year Knockout PKO tournament.
Satellites for End Boss Poker Series events will start soon at BetMGM Poker PA and Borgata Poker PA. Buy-ins for those will be as low as $5.
