BetMGM knows poker bankrolls can be tight around the holidays. So to offset all the money being spent on presents, BetMGM Poker PA is offering the Cheap Stakes Series.

Players located in the Keystone State can participate in the series from Dec 17-26. The events include over $90,000 in guaranteed prize pools.

According to a partypoker US network tweet, the series was created based on feedback from players. PA players can access the series through two different poker skins:

BetMGM Cheap Stakes Series details

All the buy-ins are designed to not crush anyone’s bankroll this time of year. The series will include only $20 and $50 events. Each event starts at either 6:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. ET nightly during the series. The PA Cheap Series includes 20 different events.

Pennsylvania’s stand-out tournament will be on Dec. 26. This will carry a $20,000 guarantee. The BetMGM Cheap Series will also offer Hypers, Progressive Knockout (PKO), Turbos, and Freezeout events. Some highlights from the Pennsylvania series include:

  • $50 NLHE Re-Entry (Event 1, Dec.17) – $10,000 guaranteed
  • $50 NLHE Hyper Rentry (Event 8, Dec. 20) – $5,000 guaranteed
  • $20 NLH Turbo PKO Bounty (Event 10, Dec. 21) – $5,000 guarantee

“Cheap Stakes provides low-stakes players a chance at great pricing on the heels of last month’s End Boss series, during which we hosted events with higher stakes across the board,” said Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker, BetMGM. “We’re thrilled to roll this out for the first time across all of our live markets.”

New Years Eve Knockout Weekend at BetMGM poker PA

BetMGM is offering even more options over the holiday break. From Dec. 29-Jan. 2 the poker site is hosting its Knockout Weekend. These events will consist entirely of Progressive Knock-Out Bounty (PKOs) tournaments.

In a PKO, when a player is knocked out, only a part of the bounty goes to their opponent. The other portion is placed on the winning player’s head. The more players someone eliminates, the more that player’s own bounty is valued. These tournaments make for some interesting dynamics.

“New Year Knockout Weekend helps end this year and ring in the new one with a celebration of one of the most entertaining formats in poker,” said Staudenmaier.

The event series includes the following events:

  • $320 NLHE PKO Eight-Handed (Event 1, Dec. 29)
  • $55 NLHE PKO Eight-Handed (Event 2, Dec. 30)
  • $109 NLHE Turbo PKO Six-Handed (Event 3, Dec. 31)
  • $20 NLHE PKO Eight-Handed (Event 4, Jan. 1)
  • $1,060 NLHE PKO Eight-Handed (Event 5, Jan. 2)
  • $215 NLHE PKO Eight-Handed (Event 6, Jan. 3)

If some of these tournaments may still be out of reach, the operator is offering even more chances. Players can get in on the cheap through a variety of tournament qualifiers and satellites starting as low as $2.

These events will also be available in New Jersey and Michigan.
