The Philadelphia 76ers have shown a willingness to partner with online gaming companies. The NBA franchise has now entered into a one-year agreement with PokerStars.
We’ve seen the Sixers partner with operators utilizing a sportsbook, which obviously makes a ton of sense. However, the Sixers teaming up with brands that have PA online casinos is certainly an interesting new tactic.
Philadelphia 76ers and PokerStars link together
According to PokerStars’ website, new and exciting offers are coming to players because of its partnership with the Sixers. The operator has been providing its PokerStars Casino PA in the state since November 2019.
PokerStars is not new to the sports world. It currently has partnerships with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings of the NHL, along with Oracle Red Bull Racing.
PokerStars’ website provided what the deal with the Sixers includes:
“The major partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers will see the addition of monthly freerolls during the basketball season. This will provide PokerStars players and Sixers fans with the chance to win game tickets, merchandise and PokerStars credit.”
The agreement includes PokerStars branding inside the Wells Fargo Center, as well as “plenty of in-game experiences.”
Philadelphia 76ers’ partnerships with other Pennsylvania online casinos
PokerStars is not the only online casino platform that is tied to the Sixers. Just last week, BetMGM and the Sixers inked a multi-year partnership that spans mostly the sports side.
Just like with PokerStars, Sixers fans attending the Wells Fargo Center will also see BetMGM signage across the arena. BetMGM and the Sixers are also coordinating VIP fan amenities, including courtside access to pre-game shootarounds and luxury seating for games.
Since this agreement with the Sixers and BetMGM is mainly sports-based, BetMGM Sportsbook PA players will have access to a 50% live odds boost token during 76ers games.
Despite this partnership being sports-related, the Sixers do have a presence on BetMGM Casino PA, as well. There are Sixers-themed blackjack and roulette games that are only available at BetMGM.
The operator has really leveraged sports teams as a way to create games to cross-sell from its sportsbook. BetMGM’s VP of Gaming, Angus Nisbet, said back in June that having those partnerships and games has been instrumental in the success of BetMGM. Nisbet said on the iGaming Next podcast:
“We’ve got exclusive games with the Philadelphia 76ers, doing roulette and blackjack with them. We’ve got slots for the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets. We have National Hockey League slots that are now exclusively with us. That’s just what we’re doing on our own.”
Pennsylvania online casinos are not afraid to involve sports franchises in their plans. The Sixers, PokerStars and BetMGM appear to be all in.
